Jeff Tumbarello

Jeff Tumbarello is a seasoned Real Estate Broker and a respected leader in Southwest Florida’s real estate community. Originally from Stuart, Florida, Jeff’s journey brought him to SWFL following his service in the United States Marine Corps. He has since made it his home, where he resides with his wife, Cristina Tumbarello.

With a robust career spanning over two decades, Jeff has delivered market analytics and product modeling for capital markets and prominent private equity firms. He has played a key role in high-stakes transactions, including large-scale bulk asset acquisitions and distressed note sales. Since 2009, Jeff has excelled as a broker in commercial real estate, managing diverse projects such as expansive office complexes in Cape Coral, distressed gulf-access development sites in Naples, and major warehouse properties between Sarasota and Fort Myers. He remains a dynamic force in commercial leasing, leveraging his deep industry expertise.

A real estate investor since 1997, Jeff has engaged in nearly every facet of investment transactions, earning a reputation for versatility and insight. His thought leadership has positioned him as a sought-after expert, collaborating with media outlets including NPR, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, NBC, ABC, WINK, Fox, Fort Myers News-Press, Naples Daily News, Fort Myers Weekly, and Gulf Coast Business Journal on topics ranging from market statistics to foreclosure trends.

In 2003, Jeff co-founded the Southwest Florida Real Estate Investment Association (SWFL REIA) alongside three fellow investors, establishing a platform dedicated to education and networking for real estate professionals. He also served as a trainer and speaker for the Florida Housing Coalition, sharing his knowledge with a broader audience.

A proud veteran, Jeff served as an infantryman with the First Battalion, Third Marines during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His disciplined approach and commitment to excellence continue to define his professional endeavors.

Mike Lyons, MBA

Director

Mike Lyons is a dedicated professional who thrives in his work with the SWFL REIA. As a vital organization for networking and acquiring precise market information, SWFL REIA relies on up-to-date market data to comprehend local market trends. With a real estate investing career that began in 2001, Mike has gained experience in nearly every facet of residential real estate investing, including property management, leasing, investing, wholesaling, flipping, property preservation, and vacation rentals.

His primary area of expertise lies in property management, and he currently oversees several hundred properties across Lee County, covering areas such as Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, and Bonita Springs. As one of the few investors who genuinely enjoy property management, Mike recognizes the crucial role of property preservation as both a property manager and landlord.

Born and raised in Lee County, Mike holds an associate’s degree from Edison College and both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business from Florida Gulf Coast University. He is a licensed real estate agent as well as a licensed community association manager (CAM). Additionally, Mike completed a two-year mission for his church in Mexico, during which he became fully fluent in Spanish.

Kayla Oquendo

Event administrative assistant

Originally a New York native, Kayla moved to Lehigh Acres, FL in 1996. She began her career in Property Management in August 2011.

Kayla is the event administrative assistant for the SWFL REIA, overseeing new and existing memberships as well as coordinating bi-monthly meetings.

Kayla is also a Property Manager as well as a Leasing Consultant for Lyons Real Estate Inc. She oversees maintenance issues, manages tenant relations which includes background checks of potential tenants, rent collection, lease renewals, and coordinating inspections.

Over the years, Kayla has taken on many challenges and is always looking for an opportunity to learn and grow.
