Often, the discomforts experienced during this period are dismissed as mere \u201cgrowing pains,\u201d a phase that young ones simply have to endure. However, this broad categorization can sometimes lead to the oversight of underlying issues that, if properly addressed, can enhance a child\u2019s well-being and physical development. While it\u2019s true that many pre-teens experience discomfort as their bodies grow, attributing all such pains to growth can prevent a deeper investigation into their true causes. Conditions such as early-onset hypermobility, for example, can manifest as early as 12 years old. Despite having seen several specialists who diagnosed his glutes as \u201cweak,\u201d the discomfort persisted. Recognizing the need for a different approach, we embarked on a comprehensive assessment of Alex\u2019s functional fitness. This assessment revealed two critical, previously overlooked factors contributing to his discomfort:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-yy9l11433\"><strong><em><u>1. Early Signs of Hypermobility<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-1xpku26\">Upon evaluation, it became evident that Alex exhibited early signs of hypermobility. Hypermobility syndrome is characterized by joints that stretch farther than normal, leading to a range of symptoms including pain, increased risk of injury, and joint instability. For Alex, this meant reevaluating his warm-up routine to better support his joints and prevent injury.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-a1xti1457\"><strong><em><u>2. Neurological Imbalance<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-o111630\">Interestingly, we discovered a significant neurological bias in Alex\u2019s movement patterns; his brain was unconsciously favoring his right side for nearly all activities. Although there was nothing functionally amiss with his left side, this imbalance was causing undue strain on his right side, contributing to his pain and discomfort.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:image -->\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/9de526_710ca69e3fac49cfbe2cf43f1191b3bc~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_350,h_541,al_c,q_80,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto\/9de526_710ca69e3fac49cfbe2cf43f1191b3bc~mv2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<!-- \/wp:image -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-pz0491481\"><strong><em><u>The Solution<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-w1wbe4910\">To address these challenges, we crafted a dual-faceted corrective protocol for Alex, to be performed both in the morning and at night. This consisted of three targeted exercises designed to realign his hip and restore balance across his body. Additionally, we introduced a training regimen specifically aimed at retraining his brain to engage his left side more actively in movements.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:image -->\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/9de526_0cec1f8bc30d48b08ced6d107659aa73~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_350,h_790,al_c,q_80,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto\/9de526_0cec1f8bc30d48b08ced6d107659aa73~mv2.jpg\" alt=\"after intervention\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">After only one session we here started seeing significant improvement on his squat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<!-- \/wp:image -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-hqkfw1505\">The Results<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p id=\"viewer-9b1sk4892\">The transformation was remarkable. Within just a few weeks, Alex reported a significant reduction in pain, feeling more balanced and coordinated. This newfound equilibrium was not just felt but also demonstrated through his achievements, such as scoring a goal with his left foot in a soccer match\u2014a feat that had been unthinkable before our intervention. All of this progress was achieved through tailored exercises, without the need for medication, electrical treatments, or other unconventional methods.
